The creator has gone to great lengths to replace every facial model for every character of every race. The latest version of the mod offers five different presets. However the more detailed and advanced the preset, the higher the performance tax.
The simplest preset is Performance. Download it here! One of the defining characteristics of any Final Fantasy game is its summons. Summons date back to the earliest entries in the series. I can remember being blown away as a child by the summon cutscenes in FF7.
Like so many mods on this list, this is mainly a texture upgrade. I promised to keep this list clean but this mod comes with a caveat. For best results, the creator suggests downloading extra skin files. Some of these are NSFW so be warned. Helpfully the mod comes with 5 presets depending on how beefy your system is. Each one should smooth out your FPS a little and help eliminate annoying graphical glitches. This means you spend a lot of time looking at the same windows day in and day out.
But it looks nice! Make it blue h ere. This is a case of a relatively simple mod with huge benefits. All it does is replace the textures of the original maps. This may sound simple but it provides some cheeky gameplay benefits. Namely, these news skins make looking for treasure wayyy easier. Normally a mod like this would set alarm bells ringing.
This is another simple graphical upgrade. It takes the original designs for NPC character faces and enhances the detail by four. A lot of mods play around with the actual designs for better and worse. This mod makes the graphics cel-shaded similar to those of the Borderlands games. For example, the creators note problems with long-distance weather outlines. The performance hit for such a major change is surprisingly small to boot. These effects can start to feel pretty obnoxious the more you play.
Get it here. It improves the color palette and gives the game a nice Cyan-tint. The creator has tried to replicate FFXV in the visuals. It also plays around quite a bit with lighting and contrast. Model ripped and ported by me. More information on known issues is on the TT discord. DX11 : Download. DX9 : Download. This was a really quick pack to make and again like years coming - these are a lot less subtle than the Au Ra ones but still should vibe relatively well with the games graphical style.

This mod is very similar to the last one, as it serves as a complete collection of texture mods that change most of the vanilla textures that come with the base game.
But still provide users with a unique set of 1k textures, all of which look far better than the vanilla ones. This fantastic collection includes a whole bunch of amazing presets that balance amazing graphics without forgetting the importance of system performance.
Better shading, lighting, and much better processing make this one of the best FFXIV mods that you can install to improve the graphical look of the game. Changes like this do require your computer to have enough processing power to work with these graphics, and a video card capable of running it is fundamental as well.
Now this mod is a rework of the buff icon textures of the game, so they look much better when expanded. The original buff icons are blurry, and this mod was made by someone who clearly knows a thing or two about game art. All of the textures remain the same in terms of their design and symbols. But the icons do increase in scale by a lot. You might want to combine them all! Alright, so this mod is actually quite simple.
Another small mod that does more than it seems, the Chat Gray Box Remover makes the chat blend in with the game more naturally by removing the gray box. This deals with the basic grass issue of FFXIV, so your computer should run the game more smoothly if you properly install the mod. This bad boy, combined with buff icons and item icons, is meant to improve the way the game looks as much as possible.
And this one is the most complete of the bunch as it aims to better the way in which every single item in the game looks. It makes the game look really gorgeous and removes some of the blurriness that you sometimes had to deal with when in-game.
The Heavensword Sweet FX is my favorite shader mod, and it does a fantastic job at creating a more blended atmosphere in the game. The creator of this mod went through every single eye model in the game and revamped it to make it look far better.
